Hong Kong SME

1. The SME Export Marketing Fund (EMF) aims to encourage small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand their markets outside Hong Kong by providing financial assistance to SMEs for participation in export promotion activities.

If you are a non-listed enterprise registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) with substantive business operations in Hong Kong, you can apply for funding support. There is no limit on the number of applications by an enterprise for funding support under EMF. However, each enterprise may receive funding support under EMF up to a cumulative limit of HK$800,000. Each application should cover expenditure related to one promotion activity. The maximum amount of funding support for each successful application is 50% of the total approved expenditure incurred by the applicant enterprise or $100,000, whichever is the less.

Applicant enterprises may opt to apply for Initial Payment cum Final Payment or Reimbursement. Enterprises should submit an application for initial payment within 45 to 120 calendar days before the commencement date of the exhibition. For Final Payment/ Reimbursement, enterprises should submit an application for funding support within 60 calendar days after the completion date of the exhibition.

2. Hong Kong enterprises participating in exhibitions in the Mainland: the BUD Dedicated Fund‘s maximum subsidy for each project is up to 25% of the approved expenditure, with a cumulative total ceiling of HKD 7 million. Each enterprise can apply for up to 70 approved projects. The enterprise must self-fund at least 75% of the project cost.
